Winter Wellness Event, Tuesday 14th November and Friday 17th November, Speke and Garston
This November South Liverpool Homes are hosting two events in Speke and Garston, to help you stay warm and well this winter. We’ve partnered with Swagga Primary Care Network to provide general health advice and talk through your cost-of-living concerns.
The organisation will be in Speke on Tuesday 14 November, from 10am till 2pm at Parklands Atrium, just outside the SLH offices and Speke library. The next event will be in Garston on Friday 17th November, between 10am and 2pm at St Michael’s Church on Church Road, L19 8EA.
Come along to speak to South Liverpool Homes about any money and energy bill concerns as well as getting a quick health MOT with Swagga Primary Care Network. You can get your blood pressure, BMI and cholesterol checked all at the same event.
Free refreshments will be provided by our friends at Zero Waste Liverpool. The team will be giving away free bowls of soup, as well as bags of free food, rescued from landfill.
Men’s peer support groups, Every Monday, Speke and Garston
South Liverpool Homes will be holding men’s group in Garston every Monday, from 1-2pm at Garston Children’s Centre, Banks Road, Garston. Group facilitator Ryan is creating a safe space for men to talk opening about their mental health. It’s a drop-in session with refreshments provided.
The Speke group meets every Wednesday from 7-8pm at Lifestyles Austin Rawlinson in Speke. Mindset Matters, Evolving Mindset, SLH, BME Youth and Sport England have come together to promote South Liverpool Men’s Wellbeing Club.
The club uses physical activities including football, badminton and boxing to bring people together and offer support to improve your mental and physical health.

Glass engraving for beginners, 12 week course starting Tuesday 14th November, Speke
Itching for etching?! This is a fun workshop – ideal for beginners wanting to make something special. You’ll explore and develop the intricate art of glass engraving, as well as the rich history of the craft.
Starting on Tuesday 14 November at The Market Place Social, the course will run for 12 weeks. To take part, you must be able to commit to completing the course. The course timings will be confirmed by email.
Come along and create your very own unique piece of work to proudly display at home or as a gift to a family member or friend.

Community cardio classes, Mondays and Fridays, Garston
Fitness classes are a great way to stay in shape. Mindset Matters promote the benefits of improving mental health and wellbeing, through inclusive boxercise classes in Garston on Mondays and Fridays.
The exercises are suitable for beginners, new and returning attendees. Pop along and give it a go!
