"Hi All,
I hope you are all well and coping with lockdown as best you can. As everyone knows, one of the best ways beat the lockdown blues is to use the time to play ukulele. I trust that this is certainly the case for all you strumbrellas out there. It is also true that the best way to keep your uke-mentum up is to check in at the Tuesday afternoon strumbrellas meeting at a place called zoom.
We have been working on our ukulele skills each week and have now mastered the calypso – down, down, up, up, down, up – strum. We are also writing a blues song and will soon be ready to cut a record. Alongside all of this excitement we find time to rehearse some oldies but goldies’ and this week was no exception as Pete led us in his rendition of ‘Sloop John B’…magic.
Attached are the latest workings on 'Lockdown blues' and a version of one of our favorites from our repertoire , Jambalaya, enjoy!
So we will look forward to seeing as many of you as can make it this coming Tuesday. on zoom (Boom Boom)
Take care and keeeeeep strumming.
Paddy"
