Cultivating Wellbeing - Elastic Band Technique



This week Paddy & Nikki (PSS Wellbeing Centers) introduce a helpful method of thought stopping - the elastic band technique.


This technique is useful for those times when a persistently troublesome thought stubbornly refuses to leave us alone. The elastic band technique is a practical tool to help distract us away from distressing thought patterns.


All we need is an elastic band/rubber band and a pleasant thought/image to bring to mind which can (in Paddy's words) replace the irksome interloper - by interrupting and replacing distressing thoughts.
