We're used to seeing photos on Instagram of magical-looking woodlands, with sunlight gently drifting between knotted trunks to spill across the forest floor. When we're encouraged to "get out into nature", we often picture enchanting scenes of paths between the trees, or disappearing across a rolling moor into a mysterious copse. Yet individually, trees themselves have various links with magic, witchcraft and fairies. Some trees are believed to be able to ward off witches or the Devil, while others shelter fairies beneath their branches. Yet others make excellent brooms, dowsing rods, and magic wands. This talk will explore the folklore and legends associated with elder, hawthorn, rowan, and hazel.

Join us for a rich webinar with Jasvir Singh (CBE) hosted by the Manchester Metropolitan University Race Staff Network to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month. This event acknowledges the profound contributions of our South Asian communities to Great Britain. Jasvir navigates the treacherous terrain that is the present landscape of the collective as steeped in historical adversities and triumphs, hopes and trepidations, opportunities and barriers, low ceilings and high possibilities and the promise of a rising of the phoenix of possible futures arising from the contradictory glitter of the ashes of past wrongs.

According to https://GreatBarrierReef.org The Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven wonders of the natural world, and pulling away from it, and viewing it from a greater distance, you can understand why. It is larger than the Great Wall of China and the only living thing on earth visible from space.

Let's create art exploring the beauty of Australia's Great Barrier Reef - flora, fauna, islands, and ocean.
